The ASI585MC Pro camera uses a Sony IMX585 sensor. As one of ZWO’s latest OSC cameras, it features a large sensor size of 1/1.2″ with a high resolution of 3840*2160 and no amp-glow! The pixel size is 2.9µm*2.9µm. In 12-bit mode, it reaches a speed of 46.2 frames per second. with very low read-noise.
The camera’s sensor has the same pixel size as the ASI462MC, but the resolution compared to it is four times larger, thus 8.29 megapixels. The size of the sensor is 11.13 * 6.26mm. The size of the sensor makes it excellent for photographing small deep sky objects as well as solar system objects. This can also be used as a high end all-sky camera for tracking meteors and weather.
The camera uses STARVIS2 technology. No amp glow, lower read noise and three times the well capacity compared to the ASI462 camera. The camera can be thought of as an upgrade to the ASI485 camera. This is also more sensitive in the infrared range. Especially at >850nm wavelength. Its light sensitivity is 1.5 times better than ASI485MC.
